Unable to reinstall Elasticsearch

Hello

for various reasons I have to reinstall Elasticsearch. I have deleted the directories but there is something that is preventing a reinstall. I am getting message 'Package elasticsearch-5.6.3-1.noarch already installed and latest version. Nothing to do'.
What should I do to eliminate this dependancy

Are you using yum to delete it or just removing files?

I was simply deleting the files.
I tried yum reinstall and that worked.
