Upgrading from 0.19.8 to 0.90.0

Hi,

We're currently running 0.19.8 and I'd like to move to 0.90.0. The release notes for 0.90.0 and 0.20.x both mention that a full cluster restart is required when upgrading from the previous version. Is it possible to go directly from 0.19.8 to 0.90.0, or should I start the cluster with 0.20.x and then move to 0.90.0?

I will of course test everything first, but it'd save a bit of time if I knew jumping straight to 0.90.0 wasn't supposed to work!

Cheers,
Dan

Hi Dan!

I've created databases using ES 0.19.4, then moved to 0.19.10, then moved
to 0.20.4, and now using 0.90. At no time did I see any issues, and there
are documents that have been created and updated with all of those versions.

Only caveat: For a cluster, stop all nodes, then upgrade, then restart all
nodes. Don't let versions mix on the same cluster.

Anyway, that's been my experience!

Regards,
Brian
