What is better, update or install from the beginning?

Hello, good day, I have an elasticsearch cluster with version 7.17. I would like to know what is most convenient? upgrade the cluster to version 8.10 or perform a new installation with version 8.10 and only migrate the data from version 7.17 to 8.10.

Hi @efrainMZ,

Probably depends upon what you consider inconvenient. If you following the instructions to upgrade from 7.17 to 8.x it should go well.

If you don't want to do an upgrade there are other options to migrate data.
