CONF_FILE setting is no longer supported

I am upgrading the Eleasticsearch version from 1.5.0 to 2.1.1
While installing plugin i am getting below message

'CONF_FILE setting is no longer supported. elasticsearch.yml must be placed in the config directory and cannot be renamed.'

Kindly help me in solving this issue.

I think you did not update the plugin script.

Same thing happened to me.

For me the solution was to go to
/etc/sysconfig
folder and comment out the line which had CONF_FILE in it.
