I've raised the issue with the team several times and they have confirmed that the ASN is allowed on our side each time. We don't block on an individual IP level. @mfridrikhson was following up with a similar issue as they were seeing blocks on non-Elastic URLs too, and I'm not sure if he got a resolution.
The only other potential issue I can think of is if you have IPv6 enabled despite using an IPv4 host as IPv6 is not strictly supported. Can you check that?
If not feel free to supply a trace and the response from Hertzner that you have received and I can follow up again.
Hi @carly.richmond.
We are again receiving complaints from our customers regarding the inaccessibility of your resources from our subnet 95.47.238.1/23.
Could you check the blocking on your side again?
Thank you.
Thanks for getting back in touch. I've checked the ASN that the subnet belongs to and it is explicitly allowed on our side. When we last checked this range in January we say many accepted requests and no dropped requests. Do you have any customer traces confirming dropped requests?
I would recommend checking that the requests are being made via IPv4, and that IPv6 is not enabled, as that has caused issues for others in the past.
Thanks @Mark5! I've received word from the team that the ASN has been added to the allowlist. If you encounter any issues downloading from that IP just let me know.
Welcome! Thanks for raising your issue. Sadly I've checked the ASN that your IP belongs to (AS216127) contains IP ranges connected to a sanctioned country. Therefore we're unable to unblock this ASN.
Can you check if you're able to access Elastic artefacts/ run the required command on another IP?
Looking at the above IP, it is part of ASN AS14576 which also contains IP ranges connected to a sanctioned country. Sadly we can't unblock that ASN either.
I encountered an issue while trying to install the Kibana package. During the installation process, I received the following error:
Err:1 https://artifacts.elastic.co/packages/8.x/apt stable/main amd64 kibana amd64 8.16.1
403 Forbidden [IP: 34.120.127.130 443]
E: Failed to fetch https://artifacts.elastic.co/packages/8.x/apt/pool/main/k/kibana/kibana-8.16.1-amd64.deb 403 Forbidden [IP: 34.120.127.130 443]
E: Unable to fetch some archives; maybe you need to run 'apt-get update' or try with --fix-missing?
Could you kindly assist with resolving this error?
