Is it possible to deploy an earlier version, such as 8.10.2, via Elastic Cloud β either through advanced settings or support request?
Thanks for reaching out, @Aniket_Dubey10. I had attempted to replicate this in my cloud environment and I did see this option available:
@jessgarson I think that's because you are logged in with an ...@elastic.co
email address. These older versions are not generally available IIRC.
Thanks, @DavidTurner. I thought it was possible that could be the case.
You can deploy and older version using the Terraform provider or the Elastic Cloud API.
David / Leandro are Correct the Elastic Cloud UI is purposely configured that way for new Deployments.
You should do this with Caution...
If you do choose older releases, you should do the greatest patch release example
8.10.4
Also keep in mind if you run into issues it's highly highly unlikely there will be any fixes
With that said, we also would highly encourage you to do your best to keep up to date with elastic releases because there are functional fixes, performance fixes, security fixes, etc. Not to mention added capabilities
We know that's a little hard because how fast we release but that cadence is slowing down.
I would recommend if you need to start with 8.10 that you immediately plan you're upgrade to 817.5 or 8. 18.1 when it's released
