Can kibana authenticate via client certificate against elasticsearch with basic license?

Hi,

As I understand I can use client-certificates for authenticating kibana against elasticsearch -> so I don't need user / password anymore for kibana. Is that correct?

Can I authenticate with client certificates with basic license, or is it only included with gold / platinum?

Hi Andreas,

In order to have your Kibana user authenticate to elasticsearch with a client certificate , elasticsearch needs to have a PKI realm configured and PKI realms are not available in the basic license ( see the security section in the basic column here )
