I'd suggest you need to move to 6.X, or more preferably 7.X.

2.X has been EOL for 2 years now - https://www.elastic.co/support/eol

Cannot possibly move to 7.x as our elasticsearch is at 6.7
So, can you provide a url or document that can guide us in upgrading logstash from 1 to 6.x?

There's no document for that large of a move. You would probably be better off setting up a new 6.8 instance of Logstash and the copying your configs over.
