Do plugins get upgraded along side Logstash?

A couple weeks ago my indexer was going nuts. Eventually I fixed it by manually upgrading the plugins. Which confuses me because I would think Logstash core plugins would get upgraded at the same time as the main program. But grok was not upgraded when I upgraded via apt.

So, do I need to manually upgrade core plugins when I upgrade via apt?

Same question for Elasticsearch and Kibana.

The Logstash Debian package contains a bunch of plugins and they're upgraded when you upgrade the package. To debug this specific case we need to know details like what you upgraded from, what you upgraded to, which plugins you're interested in, etc.

Finally have time to look into this again.

I upgraded a few weeks ago from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4.

From https://github.com/logstash-plugins/logstash-filter-grok I see that the latest grok tag is v3.2.0. I assume that the tags correspond to the plugin version, right? So, shouldn't my install have version 3.2.0?

It doesn't. It is at 2.0.5.
