I have just installed the ELK stack and I am trying to launch the elasticseatch.bat file like it says in the setup guide. However when try to open the file a command script opens for a a split second and then closes. Has anyone had an error like this in the past?

I believe you are double-clicking the bat file. Kindly launch it from a shell/terminal like
./elasticsearch.bat
As the error message states, elasticsearch is unable to start as the file already exists.
Kindly copy the file and delete from existing location.
Start elasticsearch . If it doesn't start kindly create it again using this link
