ES6x Cross Cluster Search compatible with ES241

I'm currently mantain ELK platform all working ES2.4.1
in fact , kibana 4.6 is using a ES2.4.1 Tribe connected to several clusters all in ES2.4.1.
I think add a ES6x cross cluster search connected to the same clusters ES2.4.1 and then a new kibana instance connected to this new ES6 cross cluster search.
Do you know if ES6x cross cluster is fully compatible to connect ES2.4.1???
Could I use kibana6.x connected to ES6x cross cluster??

As per the documentation Cross Cluster Search requires Elasticsearch 5.5 or later, so version 2.4.1 will not work.
