How to add new types of Data Visualisations

Hello,

I would need to add new types of Data Visualisations (e.g. Funnels) to Kibana.

How can I do that? Which kind of technologies and libraries (e.g. CSS3, d3.js) should I use?
Is there any existing documentation about all this?

We're working on extending this sort of functionality at the moment, for now you unfortunately need to DIY from scratch
