Index template is not visible in ilm

Kibana shows .logstash-management template

but "Add policy to index template" option under "Index Lifecycle Policies" doesn't show this index

I want to apply the policy to the .logstash* indices, what could be the issue the template doesn't appear on the ui?

My first idea would be that there are no indices with that template, hence why it doesn't show in the list.

i created new template that matches the logstash index_patterns as given in http://blog.ehrnhoefer.com/2019-05-04-elasticsearch-index-lifecycle-management/, now this template is showing in the list
