We would like to monitor the remote connections to our kibana instance. Does kibana keep an http access-like log somewhere? Is that data in the monitoring index for kibana ( I don't really see it there).
You can see connections if you set logging.verbose: true in your kibana.yml file, but Kibana doesn't write those connections to a separate file. Everything is written to the same log file at the moment.
