After upgrading to Elastic Stack 6, I usually get this error message on starting Kibana:
"... is not a configured pattern ID. Using the default index pattern ..."
Does it mean anything? Do I care? How do I stop it?

Hi @TimWard,
Sometimes it can happen when link you use to open discover page includes non-existent index pattern id, Kibana falls back to default index pattern and warns user about that. Links in Kibana may include "state" that would look like ..../discover?_g=()&_a=(....,index:id_of_the_index_pattern.....)
.
So the question is where do you get this link from?
Best,
Oleg
Ah, that's probably it, I get to Kibana from a favourite stored in the browser - thanks.
