Kibana plugin access an outside elasticsearch

Hi all,

My system includes (elasticsearch 7.2, kibana 7.2 and IBM cloud elasticsearch 6.7.2), I want to build a plugin that can access indexes on elasticsearch 6.7.2. is it possible?

Unfortunately not - we make fairly heavy use of major versions and breaking changes. The health check will disable Kibana, and it could be disabled and the versions. 6.7 access to 7.0 is supported for rolling upgrades, but higher versions aren't.

Any context on what you're looking for in 7.x that isn't available in 6? Maybe we can look into a workaround.
