After upgrading cluster to 5.3 and upgrading kibana, kibana endpoint is dead with ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS
A manual restart might be required.

If x-pack is not installed in Elasticsearch the security UI infinitely redirects requests. Am suspecting either your set up does not have X-Pack installed in ES, or it can’t reach ES. It also might be looking for license validation which is not happening.
