Logstash, Kibana & Beats backward compatibility with ES 1.7.3?

Hi all,

I've had a look around various information sources/outlets and i've not managed to find a concrete answer re Elastic component backward compatibility.

Situation:

Alfresco Activiti BPM comes with Elasticsearch 1.7.3 and I'm looking to find out if the current releases of Logstash, Kibana, Beats etc. will be compatible with it? If not are there any more recent versions that are compatible, or do i have to try and go way back to the versions that shipped at the same time as 1.7.3?

Any help appreciated.
