Manual dashboard refresh on Kibana

I have been unable to manually refresh the dashboard view in Kibana since installing 6.4, maybe earlier but not much.

Previously once the dashboard was loaded you could manually refresh the results by clicking on the spyglass in the search bar, however unless there is an altered query in the search box, this button now does nothing.

Currently the only way I can refresh the results is to reload the entire page in the browser.

All guidance on refreshing the Dashboard relates to the autoRefresh options but this is not what I am looking for and I cannot seem to find anyone else with the same issue.

Is this something that has changed by design or is it possibly something to do with my build?

As yesterday I got an update to Kibana that changed the magnifying glass to update or refresh dependant on whether the query has changed I assume it should update but still with version 6.5 it does not work in the browser.

Operating environment:
Operating system: Ubuntu server 64-bit
OS Version 18.04 LTS fully up to date.
OS Kernel: 4.15.0-36-generic
Java version: openjdk version "1.8.0_181"
Kibana Version:6.5.0 installed via apt elastic repo
ElasticSearch Version: 6.5.0 installed via apt elastic repo
ElasticSearch non-data node and Kibana running on same host.
ElasticSearch contains 2 other data nodes

Hey @Stuart_Kenworthy,

Looks like it's a valid issue we've discovered recently too: https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/23329. And there is a potential workaround there as well (https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/23329#issuecomment-424862607) that you can use until the issue is fixed.

Feel free to follow this one and add any details that you think may be relevant.

Best,
Oleg
