We enabled PDF report generation on our Kibana instance a few months back.
We use Google login, and we map Google Workspace groups to Kibana Roles. This has been working fine for the members of this group, but out of a sudden, one of them wasn’t able to create reports anymore.
It looks like there’s an override for this single user, but as said we use Google login, and this user is not even listed in the Users list, so it cannot have such a customization.
The only odd thing that comes to my mind is that this user is member of many groups, so I wonder if there’s any limitation to the items which can be shared/picked from third-party login.
One thing worth checking is whether this only happens in a specific Kibana space. Kibana permissions are space-specific, so if this is a new or different space, it is possible the user doesn’t have reporting (PDF) permissions there. Even if they can generate reports in other spaces, missing reporting privileges in just one space would block it there.
Also, this user was able to generate PDF reports in the past, right? And it suddenly stopped working? If only this user is impacted, we may need to review the differences in role assignments between this user and others to understand why it’s user-specific.
I have checked for say user ABC same dashboard , in space PDF-YES :
