When I was looking around I saw two kibana indices, .kibana-6 and .kibana_7.
.kibana alias was pointing to .kibana_7.
How does this work? My google skills is not good enough to find details.
Background:
I recently upgraded kibana to 6.5.1. Then rolled it back to older more stable version. Are these indices created during the upgrade process?
Yes, because Kibana does some automatic reindexing based on changes that need to happen. So we use the alias and have multiple index versions underneath that.
