Options List (Control) Default Value Issue/Question

Hello,

Using kibana 7.8.

I created a drop down list control to use in a Dashboard. The drop down is for dates. I would like the default to be the most recent date in the dropdown. However, I am unable to make this work.

It shows the Date I used then I last saved the report. Which in due course willl be stale and meaningless.

Please let me know how to achieve this?
