Pie Chart showing unfilled circle with a line

I am using Pie chart visualization on my dashboard. I sometimes get this empty circle with a line as output as shown in Fig 1. This does not make sense to users.
When I open that visualization in edit-mode. It says

No results displayed because all values equal 0

As shown in Fig 2.

Can Same Error message be shown in dashboard instead of Empty Circle?

Looks like a bug to me, can you open your browser's developer tools when this happens and see if there's an error?

There is no error/warning in the developer console.

I am using Kibana 5.6.2

Thanks for the info. I searched for known bugs in the Kibana repo and couldn't find anything, if you're up for it can you open a new issue at https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/new? No worries if not, I'll get it opened.
