As part of applying security features to our ELK stack, we recently upgraded all components from version 8.14 to 8.19.
During the upgrade, we initially encountered an issue where the Logs Stream menu was no longer visible, which required some investigation. After re-enabling the deprecated menu, the Stream menu became accessible again. However, we are now facing a new problem: when clicking “View in Context”, which previously worked without any issues, an error occurs and the feature no longer functions correctly.
We would like to ask if anyone has experienced a similar issue or is aware of a solution or workaround for this problem.
Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
@sjoh9163 Starting 8.16, we deprecated Log Stream in favour of other solution and thats why the setting was disabled by default in your environment post upgrade to 8.19. I see you were able to enable it from Advanced Settings.
To assist your further with the issue, can you click on the “Show Details” button at the bottom of this error which should open a flyout with all the errors. If you can paste it here, that would help us investigate
@sjoh9163 Thank you for sharing the screenshot. I am able to reproduce the issue as well with the migration. I am still investigating and will revert soon.
@sjoh9163 The fix is ready and is getting reviewed at the moment. Post merge, it would be released with v8.19.11 in the 1st week of February. I would request you to update to this minor version to get the fix.
@achyutjhunjhunwala Thank you very much for the detailed investigation and the update. I appreciate you taking the time to identify the root cause and prepare a fix. I will plan to upgrade to version v8.19.11 once it is released to apply the fix.
Thanks again for your support and for keeping me informed.
