I was wondering if it is time to stop using the tribe node and move on to cross cluster search (ccs) - just wondering if ccs is "ready" although it's still in beta now in 5.5.0.

The good news is that you can do both in parallel.
So I'd definitely recommend starting using it and be prepared to fallback to Tribe if anything goes wrong.
