Show line not working in Dashboard

I have unchecked the show line in line chart then I saved the same and when I open it in dashboard the line is coming in 5.4.

I'm having a hard time visualizing exactly what's happening. Could you provide some screenshots or perhaps an animated gif to show what's going on? I will try and reproduce the same on the version you mentioned.
