Snapshot Search vs Cold Nodes

I've just seen that Elastic will release snapshot search release for 7.10:

Currently I have some setups with cold nodes. With this new feature, what are the pro/cons using cold nodes vs searchable snapshots?

I think your questions are answered in the more general searchable snapshots docs, which talks about the reasons to use them. This page also sets the expectation that you would primarily use this in the cold phase of ILM, because the other way requires manually mounting snapshots.
