currently i am using elk version 7.17.27(self-managed). installed elastic, kibana, apm, heartbeat, fleet server (Add a Fleet Server | Fleet and Elastic Agent Guide [7.17] | Elastic)
but not able to see synthetic option. i have installed elastic synthetic-> attached fleet policy.
Let me know what i am missing. any other version should i try?
any google/ youtube link which will help me to get synthetic monitoring fully?
do i have to take paid version for this?
how can i get page below->
In 7.17 you can use the Uptime app for monitoring. But if you are looking for the Synthetic Monitoring offering mentioned above I believe that was introduced in version 8.8 as per this blog, which would mean you need to upgrade your cluster.
@Amol_Nagotkar do you mean steps for performing the upgrade from 7.17.x to 8.x? Since you are on 7.17.x you can use the Upgrade Assistant as per the documentation.
For creating Synthetic Monitors it's not clear if you want to use project or lightweight monitors, but the Getting Started and subsequent pages should help you get set up.
Cost wise, are you looking to leverage the Elastic Cloud testing infrastructure, or use your own private location? You'll see from footnote 2 in the pricing page that there is an execution charge when using the Elastic Cloud testing infrastructure to run tests, but not from a private location.
Yes, Synthetic Monitoring doesn't require a license as stated here.
Are you using the Elastic testing infrastructure or a private location to run the tests? As stated in the pricing documentation, browser tests have a cost per run, but if you are using a private location there is no cost:
Synthetic Monitoring browser tests are $0.0123 per test run (metered in 60 second increments). Lightweight tests are $28.00 per location per month (per Elastic Stack) for up to 1k simultaneous test run capacity (~2.6 billion tests per month). Tests executed from private locations do not incur an execution charge. All test result data is stored in your Elastic stack and billed for under existing dimensions.
