Hi, I am experiencing same issue as decribed here:

If you want to upgrade Kibana you also have to upgrade Elasticsearch. How did you install Metricbeat? What does the Metricbeat logs say?

Saved Visualization Service: Visualization type of "metrics" is invalid. Please change to a valid type

Hi Stephan. That DO tutorial is using a pretty old version of our stack. It looks like it's out of date. It sounds like you're trying to create visualizations that exist in a more recent version of Kibana. In both cases, question was the same - how do I fix this.
Currently I have run into exactly same issue, and I'd like to fix this. I don't want to upgrade ES/Kibana stack. I just want to get this fixed, so I can start using my old visualisations and dashboards. I don't mind whether the one which caused this doesn't work, I am more interested in getting my service up and running again.

Which versions of the components are you using? Have you looked ate the support matrix to see which versions are compatible?

This is not a fix, and I'm looking for a fix. I am not looking to get this version working I want other things to start working.
