Can a Watch only "input" from an Index, or can it also "input" from output of a Discover Query?

You can create an Advanced Watch and change the Watch JSON to include the Elasticsearch query like in this example.
You can find the Elasticsearch query sent by the Discover page in Kibana by clicking on the "Inspect" button then opening the "Request" tab.
