X-pack License renewal information

Hi,

I have a quick question on X-Pack license.
We are running X-pack on our application, I have few questions regarding the same:

  • Once my license expires, will i get a new license.json file from Elastic and i need to install it manually?
  • Or the same license will be extended upon renewal the license.

I am asking these questions as we keep our installation part separate and we do not touch this it again once it is finalized.

Hello,

On expiry you will get a new license from Elastic and you will have to install it manually. This can be automated via script, like this:
