We have a history of response times of a web service which we report on by time (x-axis) and response time (y-axis). Obviously low response times are good and high times are bad but, for many users, it's not clear which value ranges are OK. We'd like to have some sort of demarcation which shows a horizontal line (or area) in green, orange and red (yeah mon!):
Is this achievable with any of the standard vizualization tools?
yes and no. It's not built in with the current visualizations, but you could try the Vega visualization and write your own vega-markup to do this. I'm not an expert on Vega myself, but that's likely the best way forward to achieve something like this.
