Discover tab missing after xpack default user password change

Ouch! - just changed the default passwords for elastic, logstash_system & kibana as per documentation guides (5.4.1) and after restarting my cluster and my kibana - the Discover tab is no longer present.

Can anyone help :slight_smile:

You need to provide some more information in order for us to offer meaningful help.

  • After, changing the passwords, did you update the password for the elasticsearch user in kibana.yml and logstash.yml as described here ?
  • What exactly do you mean by

    the Discover tab is no longer present

    • Are other tabs visible ?
    • Do you get an authentication error?
    • Something else?

Selecting the correct index pattern brought it back - a non-problem after all.
