Hi, Andrew. I'll need a little more information to understand the root of the problem. Could you please copy and paste the results of these two requests? (Copy and paste is better than screenshots because then I can use the text).
Also, do you have the ES server logs that correspond to that error? You should see a stack trace marked with a timestamp around the same time you got the error. If you could copy and paste that stack trace here, that will help me understand what's causing the error.
@Andrew22 So sorry for the very late reply! Looks like the underlying GET /*/_ilm/explain request is the culprit. This might be a bug in ES, but we need to dig deeper to figure out the root cause.
Could you append this query parameter to get back the stack trace and share the result with me: GET /*/_ilm/explain?error_trace=true
If that doesn't yield any stack trace information, we'll need to update the cluster settings to emit logs for ILM:
With this in place, you can execute the GET /*/_ilm/explain request, and then share the output in your Elasticsearch log. If that output doesn't contain stack trace information, you will have to replace DEBUG with TRACE in the above request and try again.
