Include_global_state in snapshot/restore

Could someone detail exactly what is re(stored) when you set this value to
true? Some subset of values returned by /_cluster/state?

Why would you ever want to set this to true?

I would like to know too, what are the advantages and disadvantages?

I'd like to know also. Why no answer in two years?

The only thing I see on elastic.co is "By setting include_global_state to false it’s possible to prevent the cluster global state to be stored as part of the snapshot."

Can someone help us out?

Global state includes cluster state, things like mappings, shard assignment etc.
