Can anyone help me understand how to restrict access to management tab or specifically advanced settings and still that user can access discover tab? We need to create roles that can access indexes for logs but no modification specially to advanced settings. I tried giving read access to kibana but not working.
@tsullivan thanks fir the reply, but in that case if a user is messing any of the advanced settings is it effective for that user who is messing it up or that change will be for everyone.
Changes to the Advanced Settings, like date format and others, are stored in the .kibana index which is shared by all users.
One workaround some folks have done is set up multiple Kibana instances (each with their own .kibana index) and grant access to each instance only to a specific group of users.
