can you share the full configuration of both chart?
What do you mean by configuration? I am using the same field, aggregation, time field, time range, and minimum interval in LENS and TSVB

ok, on the Lens panel can you open the Inspect action and check the query?
From there there’s an option to run the same query in the dev tools: can you check that non-zero values are returned from the raw ES query?

We mean all the configuration, Including Every Setting, data view, filter, etc. 
We ask these questions because 99%+ of the time, there is a configuration issue at some level of detail. TSVB has many, many options / settings.
SUM definitely works on TSVB, lets find out why you are having issues.
1st What Version are you on?
Do the same on the TSVB Panel... since that is the one with the 0 results.
Lets see what the difference is in the queries
