is it possible to filter dates based on different calendar type? i mean instead of Gregorian date, we use Jalali (Shamsi) calendar, where month names and days are different.
i would be very grateful if you can help me. thanks in advance.
Hi @carly.richmond ,
In fact i'm using opensearch and opensearch dashboard, but i couldn't find a solution to my problem, so i asked my question here.
I'm saving dates in my locale, Jalali date which is different from Gregorian. i can save it in another field and query over that, but i this way i can't show it in a time series. is there any possiblity we can use Jalali calendar in backend?
Thank you very much
OpenSearch/OpenDistro are AWS run products and differ from the original Elasticsearch and Kibana products that Elastic builds and maintains. You may need to contact them directly for further assistance.

Thanks for the background @nevahid. Did you post your question in either the OpenSearch discussion forum or Slack?
As mentioned by the bot message, the products have diverged significantly since the fork so I wouldn't be confident in a solution for OpenSearch to this problem. If you haven't posted a question on the above Slack or forum I would recommend posting there, or alternatively raising a GitHub issue on their repo.
Answering for Elasticsearch, I see a recent issue raised (not sure if this was by yourself or another developer given the timing) that suggests trying to write an equivalent Painless script or converting the date downstream.
Hope that helps!
Yes, I have posted that question, I will try that solution to see if it works, but I wouldn't mind switching to Elastic or any alternative if I can have the Jalali Calendar available. Anyway thank you again for responding.
