Uninstalling Elastisearch

Hi,

I want to completely uninstall elasticsearch, kibana and logstash as I want to start it from scratch again. But I cannot uninstall. I've tried many ways. It is not listed in installed packages too. Can't remove it from Synaptic too. While trying through the ways suggested online, I'm getting the below message:

Note : Platform - Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

Hi dadoonet,

Thanks for the reply. Thought it would be apt if i post the command prompt window itself! Okay here is the text.. Whatever I try, this is the response I got.

I have tried :

suryakumar@suryakumar-ThinkPad-X240:~$ sudo apt-get remove elasticsearch
suryakumar@suryakumar-ThinkPad-X240:~$ sudo apt-get purge elasticsearch
Inside the folder too:
suryakumar@suryakumar-ThinkPad-X240:~/elasticsearch/bin$ sudo apt-get remove elasticsearch
suryakumar@suryakumar-ThinkPad-X240:~/elasticsearch/bin$ sudo apt-get purge elasticsearch

grep:

suryakumar@suryakumar-ThinkPad-X240:~$ ps -aef | grep elasticsearch
suryaku+ 31343 31298 0 15:43 pts/4 00:00:00 grep --color=auto elasticsearch
