What is the '#' next to my field

I searched google and couldnt locate any clues, I'm surprised that I am the first to ask the question.

What does it mean when there's a '#' in front of my field name when most other fields have a 't' in front?

Where would I locate documentation on these characters and their meanings?

BTW, the google search
what is the "hashtag" in kibana next to my field? "#" next to field site:discuss.elastic.co
only returned 11 results and none contained anything relevant.

Is there a trick to searching google now?

I figured it out by right clicking and inspecting the element.

So this matches the type I set for the field

Yeah, I can understand how this can be confusing. It's just absolutely too vague. Especially the part " what is the "hashtag" in kibana next to my field? "#"
Do you mean "Baseball field" "Foosball field"?
