Are kibana and xpack paid plugins?

Are kibana and x-pack paid plugins ? if yes where can i find the pricing ? . I have installed kibana under the monitering tab it says "Your Trial license will expire on February 19, 2017."

Also what he free alternatives for adding security for elasticsearch.

Kibana is open source.

I just need the security feature of x-pack so where can i see the pricing and also if its paid is there any other free alternatives ?
