Installing kibana console

Coming from sense chrome plugin I want to start working with the Kibana console.

This is all the documentation I get from the Kibana web site.
There is no guide on how to install it.

Do I have to install kibana in order to work with the console to request from to ElasticSearch?
Is there a way not to?
( I only need to work with ES)

The console come by default with Kibana (OSS included). There is no way to just run the console as it is a part of Kibana.
