I would like to do the same as in this link:https://discuss.elastic.co/t/is-it-possible-to-have-a-kibana-4-data-table-without-aggregations/22473. They came to a solution which allowed them to display the data in a simple table format on their dashboard. However, when I try the same in kibana 5 the data doesn't show up as a nice table like in kibana 4.
update: I figure it out. I have to add fields to the search.
Yep - you can just use a saved search in a Dashboard. That doesn't enforce the idea of an aggregation the way a data table visualization does.
