Kibana filter-bar now longer shows

When a user clicks on an item to create a filter the "filter-bar" used to appear. That section of the UI no longer shows. The filter, however, is applied correctly.

This is not happening in other instances of Kibana. I can not find a setting to make it appear again and the only way to reset the filters is to reload the dashboard.

What version, what browser + version, what OS?

ChromeOS, Chrome v. 43

Could you post a video or a screenshot with this behavior? I haven't seen it with the same OS / version.
