Setting a different homepage (kibana.defaultAppId) per space / user / role

Is it possible to set a different homepage (dashboard) per user / role? I know that you can set a general homepage using kibana.defaultAppId in Kibana.yml but I was wondering if there was a similar setting per space or would different instances of Kibana be required to set this up?
